Cora Lee is from Cape Breton. She received her BSc from The University College of Cape Breton, before graduating from Holland College, in 1998. She has 25 years’ experience in the dental field, so is a great addition to our team. When not at the clinic, she spends most of her time at the hockey rink, admitting that it is pretty much her life right now! Her family are her world, and her favourite thing to do is to be with them and to travel.

Kat graduated from NSCC IT campus in 2014 and a day after her graduation started working at a Prosthodontist office, continuing there for 4 years. In 2017, while working at a 2^nd dental office, she fell in love with general dentistry. Kat and her husband of 4 years then moved from Prospect Rd to Larry Uteck and joined The Brace Space in 2022. Kat has a 6-year-old stepson who she revolves her life around and loves dearly. When not at The Brace Space, Kat enjoys swimming, camping, cooking/baking, Putting Edge in summer and 4 wheeling in the winter! She admits to liking Tim Horton’s tea a little bit too much!

Meichen moved to Canada from XI’an China in 2016, finishing her high school education in Calgary. She graduated from Dalhousie University with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2022 and then lucky for us, her first position in her profession was with The Brace Space! As a hygiene student she worked part time at a Matcha restaurant. When not at the clinic she spends time with her 2 adopted cats, Theodore and Laifu, playing video games with friends, and recently learning to ski, skate and kayak!

Chelsea graduated from Oulton College in Dental Hygiene in 2015. She worked in general practise for 6 years before joining The Brace Space. Although Chelsea hails to us from Moncton NB, she did live in Victoria BC for 3 years before moving to NS. At home Chelsea spends time with her husband who is in the Navy, her two young children and a golden doodle named Wilson. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outside, as well as reading and listening to music.

Theresa graduated from Dalhousie University in Dental Hygiene in 2006. She is originally from Newfoundland, but we are glad that she now makes NS her home and The Brace Space her workplace! Patients love her because she has a very gentle chairside manner. In her spare time Theresa enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and hanging out with her Black Lab Rylie.

Nikki started out as a Dental Assistant in 2002, and then went on to graduate from Dalhousie University in Dental Hygiene in 2008. She worked as a general practice Dental Hygienist until we were happy to have her join our team in 2021. She uses her own experience going through braces and orthognathic surgery to help her patients feel comfortable and understand their own treatment. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her high school sweetheart, Dale, and their Miniature American Shepherd, River, and Shiloh Shepherd, Atlas. Nikki and River train and compete in a variety of dog sports and have successfully earning titles at the highest levels in Scent Detection.

Kim has been working with our team since 2004. She brings many years of dental experience to the practice. A graduate of the Dalhousie Dental Hygiene program, Kim is an outstanding clinician who provides quality care to all of our patients. Kim’s interests include fitness, nutrition, and creating beautiful smiles!

Kari graduated from Dalhousie University in 2000 with a diploma in Dental Hygiene. She joined our team in 2008 and provides excellent care to our patients throughout their orthodontic treatment.

Mikailee holds both a diploma (2018) and bachelor (2019) of Dental Hygiene from Dalhousie University. Most recently, she completed her Masters of Education for Health Professionals. She enjoys spending time with her family and her rescue dog.

Alex grew up in Inverness, Cape Breton, and graduated the Dental Hygiene program at CNIH in Ottawa in 2018. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics. Alex enjoys golfing, group fitness classes, live music, and trips home to the Island.

Jaimie was born and raised in Halifax. She attended Dalhousie University and Graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree before completing her Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2007, also at Dalhousie. Jaimie worked in general Dentistry for many years before switching to Orthodontics. Jaimie is married with two sons. when not in the clinic you can find her at a basketball court or baseball field cheering on her boys!

Lisa joined our team in 2005. She is a Registered Dental Assistant and Certified Orthodontic Assistant. Lisa works behind the scenes to ensure the clinic runs efficiently.

Meet Courtney, our new Treatment Coordinator at our Dartmouth and Halifax clinics!
With over six years of experience in the dental field and a background in public relations, Courtney brings the perfect mix of professionalism and personality to our team. She has always been genuinely passionate about orthodontics. Seeing the positive impact a confident smile can have on someone’s life is what truly inspires her.
As a Treatment Coordinator, Courtney is dedicated to supporting you throughout your orthodontic journey. She is available to answer any questions you may have regarding your treatment plan and financial options during your consultation, ensuring you feel informed, confident, and comfortable every step of the way.
When she’s not in the clinic, Courtney’s usually chasing after her energetic son—fueled by snacks, laughter, and maybe a little caffeine. She loves spending time with her family and friends, soaking up the chaos and the joy that come with it. We’re so excited to have her as part of the team!

Sarah graduated from NSCC-IT in 2006. She is a Registered Dental Assistant and a Certified Orthodontic Assistant. She joined our team in 2011 and performs 3D scans for our patients. She enjoys outdoor activities and DIY projects. Sarah’s moto is “Life is short, make it sweet.”

Liana has worked as a Registered Dental Assistant in orthodontics for over 10 years. In her spare time, she loves to explore and hike all around Nova Scotia.

Rod has worked behind the scenes at our in-house laboratory since 2008 making retainers, appliances, and indirect bonding trays. He is a lab technician with many years of experience and is dedicated to delivering appliances of the highest quality. He is a tremendous asset to our team. When he’s not here, Rod enjoys cooking, music, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends!

As treatment coordinator, Rochelle provides patients with the information they need regarding treatment options, fees, payment plans, and insurance coverage. Rochelle graduated from Mt. Saint Vincent University, went on to study Dental Assisting, and has more than 20 years of combined experience as a dental assistant, financial coordinator, and treatment coordinator.

Jillian graduated from Saint Mary’s in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She joined our team in 2017 and enjoys assisting patients and organizing clinic events as our Practice Operations Manager. A favorite hobby of hers is beekeeping!

Kim joined our reception team in 2019. She graduated from a Medical Administration Program and has over 15 years in customer service. Outside of the office, Kim loves to spend time with her family including her cats and dog and enjoys a good snowstorm.  

Our Business Manager Nicole comes from a customer service background and is thrilled to share that experience with our office and patients. Nicole loves to spend time with friends and family and enjoys travelling.

Alexa completed a Dental Administration course in 2022 and joined the reception team shortly after. She enjoys camping with her family and spending time with her rambunctious dog Hunter.

Alyssa was born and raised in Dartmouth. She graduated from Nova Scotia Community College in Dental Assisting in 2014. She comes to us with lots of experience as she has been in the field of dentistry for over 10 years!

When she is not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her two sons and her partner, and also loves to read a good book or take in a good tv series!

Ashley has joined us as the Treatment Coordinator at The Brace Space Sackville. Like many of our patients, Ashley is from the Valley and went to NSCC to start a career in Dentistry. She graduated NSCC for Dental Assisting in 2013. Ashley worked in a general practice for 4 years and then worked in Oral Surgery for 2 years. She really enjoyed Oral surgery but found herself interested in Orthodontics, and we are happy she decided to pursue that interest. She enjoys raising her young family of a stepdaughter who is 10 and now a little boy Leander who is 1. Ashley loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys the outdoors, going camping, hiking, walking and biking!

We would like to welcome Morgan to our team of Hygienists, Sackville location. In 2015, she received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Dalhousie University. She then went on to study Dental Hygiene, and in 2017 graduated with her Diploma in Dental Hygiene. After that Morgan worked in general dentistry as a hygienist for four years, followed by stepping into the Orthodontic Hygienist role at our Stuart and Davidson clinic last year. She is highly skilled and patients love her kind and understanding personality. Morgan adds a great vibe to the clinic and the team, with her love of outdoor activities including snowboarding, hiking and traveling. As with many others at The Brace Space, she also has a furry friend, A French Bulldog, named Leonard!

Jiayi was born in China and moved to Halifax when she was 8. She received the Diploma of Dental Hygiene at Dalhousie University in 2020 and then worked a year in General Dentistry before joining us at The Brace Space. We are so happy she did! Like many of our team, Jiayi also has a furry friend, a ragdoll kitty named Boba. In her free time she likes to travel, go on road trips and spend time with family and friends.
